Ecommerce (Electronic Commerce)

The term ecommerce refers to doing business electronically, usually over the Internet. This means that your customers can do business with you online. In the case of business to consumer (B2C), this is usually done through an ecommerce-enabled website.
What is it and why is it important to me?
If you ask the general public what e-commerce means, they'll probably say "buying and selling on-line." This segment concentrates on the activities involved in buying and selling goods and services on-line through an Internet location.
